Getting there is easy using the California highways. Also, while you are in Santa Maria you can go to the first and only drive-in theater that is still operational and watch a movie. The highway 101 goes through Santa Maria just like the California highways 166, 135 and 1. You can also take the north on 101 through San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, and then straight to San Francisco. You can also take the south highway to Vandenberg Air Base and Lompoc. Another option is the highway 166 to Guadalupe. This runs through the California central valley. Also, the highway 135 will take you directly to Vandenberg Air Base and then connects 101 highway at Los Alamos. If you take the north approach and 101 you will get on the northern limits of the town.
